Below you will find a list of conditions that the Chiropractor treats. Even if your condition is not listed here, you can contact us to find out if Chiropractic is right for you.

Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is a joint disorder caused by the breakdown of articular cartilage and underlying bone. The most common symptoms of this condition are joint pain and stiffness.

The symptoms often increase slowly over the years. In the beginning, complaints only occur after exertion, but over time they can become constant. Chiropractic ensures that the flexibility of movement and the freedom of movement of the joints between the vertebrae is improved. In this way we ensure that the wear and tear process is not accelerated, and possibly even stopped!

Back pain

About 3 out of 4 adults suffer from back pain. Back pain is caused by a sprain or a sprain in the back. Sprains occur when the connective tissue (the strong band that holds our bones together) tears or stretches. A sprain is a damage to the tissue, for example a muscle or tendon. This can happen when you lift too much weight, when you play sports, or even when you bend or turn incorrectly. The pain can be burning, stabbing or tingling.

Headache

Neck pain can also cause Cervicogenic headaches (headaches from the neck). This type of headache is usually felt at the back of your head, at the temples or behind the eyes. Cervicogenic headaches can also be confused with migraines or cluster headaches (Horton's headaches).

Coccyalgie

Coccyalgia is pain that occurs in the tailbone, for example when you fall on your tailbone or cycle for a long time. The pain can become worse when sitting. Sometimes the pain also occurs without a clear or underlying reason.

Degeneration of the intervertebral disc

Disc degeneration is most often associated with the aging process. As we age, our discs (the round cushions between the vertebrae) can become deformed or impoverished from use or abuse. The discs can lose their flexibility, resilience, and shock-absorbing qualities. They can also become thinner due to dehydration.

Hernia

Herniated discs usually occur in the neck or lower back. Herniated discs can cause pain when the outer ring (annalus) or the internal mass (nucleus pulposus) presses on the nearest nerve. Often there is also radiating pain towards the limbs.

Scoliose

Scoliosis is a misalignment of the spine. No spine is perfect, but a significant curvature of the spine can cause a lot of pain and problems. In some cases, even mild cases of scoliosis can cause pain and reduced mobility. Do you suffer from this condition? Don't worry. Chiropractic has been a widely used therapy by scoliosis patients for years.

Sports injury

Whether it is an injury from football, a boxing session, a game of tennis, snowboarding, skiing or another (extreme) sport: Chiropractic can often provide a solution. Sports are generally a healthy activity, and that is precisely why you want to continue doing this for as long and responsibly as possible. Chiropractic can not only help with the healing process, but can also prevent sports injuries in the future.

Myofascial pain

Myofascial pain is a form of chronic pain, where pressure on the sensitive points of the muscles (trigger points) can cause severe pain. This can also radiate to other parts of the body. Sometimes myofascial pain feels like a tight knot in your muscle, which mainly occurs when you have used the muscle a lot.

Neck pain

At Chiropractie Centraal we see that about half of our clients suffer from neck pain for years before they receive the help they need.

Piriformis Syndrome

Piriformis Syndrome occurs when the piriformis muscle (a thin muscle in the buttock) is squeezed or presses on the gluteal nerve. Symptoms of this, also called sciatica, include pain, tingling and numbness, which travels through the buttock and down one or both legs. The pain is sometimes described as a sharp pain that feels like an electric shock.

Leg length difference

A leg length discrepancy can have multiple causes. Both structural (e.g. congenital conditions) and postural problems (e.g. pelvic rotation).

Whiplash

A whiplash is an acceleration-deceleration mechanism in which forces act on the neck. It often occurs in (car) accidents, but can also be the result of diving, for example. The neck and head are suddenly and quickly moved forward (hyperflexion) and backward (hyperextension) like a whiplash. These rapid movements can lead to a severe neck sprain or contusion.

Spondylosis or Arthritis

Spondylosis or spinal arthritis can affect the small joints (facet joints) at the back of the spine. This type of arthritis is usually caused by the aging process.

Pregnancy

From the moment of conception, your body goes through a series of changes. Back, pelvis, and postural changes can cause unwanted pain and discomfort. The good news is that Chiropractic care can help.
