Team Rotterdam

Joseph Coletta

CHIROPRACTOR & CO-FOUNDER

Joseph was born and raised in Southern California, USA. His first experience with chiropractic care began as a child when he played ice hockey and sustained multiple back injuries. Treatments from his local chiropractor allowed Joseph to remain active during his youth and as an adult.

As an adult, Joseph worked as an ambulance paramedic, specializing in emergency medicine. Patient care and transport as a paramedic led to frequent back pain. Joseph combined chiropractic care with pain relievers to alleviate the pain, but he realized that medication only reduced the pain and did not treat the underlying cause. He decided to pursue chiropractic as his career and deepen his knowledge of health and the human body.

Joseph graduated from the Southern California University of Health Sciences with his Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

He moved to the Netherlands to provide meaningful care to people in need. As a practitioner in the Netherlands, Joseph, along with his business partner George Ellis, founded Chiropractie Centraal in 2017. He also volunteers and enjoys mentoring new chiropractors and students interested in chiropractic. In 2019, Joseph was one of the three professionals nominated for Chiropractor of the Year in the Netherlands. In his free time, Joseph enjoys reading and spending time with his family.

George Ellis

CHIROPRACTOR & CO-FOUNDER

George grew up in New Zealand where he, like most New Zealanders, was heavily involved in the outdoors and sports. There he enjoyed white water kayaking, skiing, water skiing, diving, free diving, fishing, hiking, rugby, canoe polo, surfing and exploring the everything the New Zealand outdoors had to offer.
When he was 14, he paddled off an 8-meter waterfall and immediately felt that something in his lower back wasn’t quite right. “I then did what most people do and ignored it until it was so bad, I had to stop all my sports and even school. After several months of trying everything that I could think of and being very frustrated about all the things I couldn’t do anymore my friend suggested I see his Chiropractor. I was so astonished by the results and getting my life back I knew from then on what I wanted to become: a Chiropractor! I understand first-hand what it is like when your health stops you from doing what you love.

George studied Health Science and Biochemistry at Otago University before being accepted into the four-year full-time program at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic. He graduated in 2009 with distinction attaining both the John Nolan Imagining Award for excellence in diagnostic imaging and the Adjustor Award. He has since completed several post-graduate courses and has a special interest in spinal disc problems.
